Christmas is always a special time of year at Warren Park and despite the challenges the pandemic has presented us in 202, we were determined to ensure that our residents had the best experience possible with our staff being merry and bringing festive cheer each day.
In making our arrangements for Christmas, we wanted to make sure our residents had a jolly time and were able to see their loved ones as much as possible which, thanks to our purpose-built visiting pod, most of our residents were able to see their families and friends safely over the festive period.
Our next priority was the Residents Christmas Party and it was good to see residents enjoying their party and live musical entertainment albeit, socially distanced. The drinks were flowing and our wonderful catering team provided am amazing selection of buffet treats which everybody enjoyed.
In the run up to Christmas, we also held one of our ‘fine dining’ evenings which had always been so popular prior to the restrictions of the initial lockdown. Several of our residents enjoyed a delicious three course meal of Chicken Liver Pate, Smoked Salmon and Sticky Toffee Pudding.
Since we could not allow a choir into the home to sing to our residents, our staff brought their Christmas spirit and performed classic Christmas songs to residents, in their rooms – though some might have enjoyed this more than others!
On Christmas Day our residents enjoyed spending time with each other and our fantastic staff, while a visit from our very own Father Christmas brought smiles to all.
We have lots to look forward to in the new year and hope to be able to welcome visitors once again, not just via our visiting pod.
We will shortly be sharing dates of the events we have planned for January and February which will obviously be subject to any restrictions and guidance in place at the time.
